QR codes, RFID tags, GPS tracking, temperature and motion sensors… More and more packaging incorporates technology that collects, transmits, or communicates with consumers, retailers, and manufacturers. To truly capitalize on these opportunities, brands need to understand the difference between bolting a bit of technology to a box and designing intelligent packaging that thrives in an information-rich ecosystem. MAYA Fellow David Bishop and Maeve Keane of our partners PDD spoke at the PACE Forum in Miami about the challenges and opportunities of designing intelligent packaging in a connected world.
MAYA Fellow David Bishop believes that the next generation of citizens needs help in leapfrogging over the basics to become creative, agile, critical, collaborative, and resilient thinkers. The way to achieve this lies in radically innovating education to include design as a way of thinking.
David Bishop, MAYA Fellow in Human Sciences, gave a joint keynote presentation with London’s PDD Group, with whom we have a strategic alliance. MAYA and PDD spoke about “Intelligent Packaging in a Connected World” at the PACE (Packaging And Converting Executives) Forum in London on February 9. The MAYA/PDD alliance was formed to bring superior connected experiences to companies across the globe.
