Sample RF Tag Visage Screen Shots

Note that this is not necessarily current data (it is a mixture of samples from April and May)

1) RF interrogator sites worldwide with Bosnia detail

2) RF interrogator units at 123rd and 16th with last report date

Summary of visualization progress on RF TAG data

The following images show three stages of work we are pursuing:
  1. Show aggregate data by location ASAP in current Visage displays.
  2. Filtering mechanisms for selecting subsets to be viewed in the same graphics.
  3. Additional, conventional (but effective) displays to show more detailed breakdowns.

The first stage involves showing aggregate data (over time, types of supply, priority, and other characteristics of tagged containers). The details shown are map locations, quantities and ages moving through and between map locations. The images are displays produced by extracting data from Oracle and importing into Visage.

3) World map of tag locations and movement.

4) Bar chart of number of tags per location.

5) European map of tag locations and movement.

6) Bar chart of number of tags per location.

7) Outliner view of tag locations.

The following set of images are sketches of displays we are considering generating in the next two weeks. Stage II involves adding filtering capabilities that enable users to select subsets of data to be shown in the Stage I graphics shown above (or in future displays, shown below). Specifically, we will provide simple interfaces for choosing the date, priority levels, and classes of supply to be included in the map and chart displays of quantity and age.

8) New interface elements under development.

The third stage of our work is represented by the following sketches, which all show break downs of the tag data by additional dimensions: by time, supply type and location. The first display contains stacks of charts (each chart for a different location) showing the quantity of tags moved and age of tags over time.

9) Data breakdown methods.

The next display shows breakdown and rollup of quantity of tags at locations of each supply class. The bars above and to the left show aggregates across all classes and all locations respectively. Note that the bars could show average age of containers for locations and supply classes. Likewise, the circle size could show either tags in, tags out, the sum of these, age, or other quantities associated with these.

10) Data breakdown and rollup.

The next set of displays shows the average age (with minimum and maximum age) of tags at a location as well as the number of tags at a location for a number of days. Each bar represents a day. (The X axis notation is not yet correct for these images. Also the location names may be a bit odd...)
